I know that Prius is a Toyota model, but since it uses ground-breaking hybrid technology, I thought we would give it its own page.

As you probably know, hybrid technology allows the Prius to use a combination of power stored in batteries along with power from a relatively small gasoline engine. When you decelerate, brake, or go downhill, the hybrid drive generates electricity to charge the special battery instead of wasting this force.

When the engine is running, it also recharges the battery. This stored power is used, either separate from or in combination with the gasoline engine, to propel the vehicle. This car requires special safety precautions to service due to the high voltage system that it employs.
